Teens working

In certain countries it is commonplace for teenagers to combine part-time or weekend jobs with their studies. Would you say this practice is good or bad? Your opinion as well as your reasons for agreeing or disagreeing should be supported with examples.

Meeting expenses while being a student has been a challenge. Doing a part-time work to accommodate daily needs has advantages as well as disadvantages which need to be weighed before making a choice.

The benefits are both fee payment and additional pocket money. In this expensive world, paying a course fee is a hard task for the lower and alseo middle class society. Hence, part-time jobs or weekend jobs have become one of the only sources of income for students. Another important reason is having some pocket money for personal expenditure. Nearly everybody likes to have extra cash at their disposal, because it gives some flexibility and independence in buying things they want in order to satisfy their little desires.

On the other side of the spectrum, working after studies can cause stress and also negatively interfere your studies. Doing some work after school may badly affect on students mental and physical activities. Further, health disorder could lead to depression and increased anxiety. Another problem is a distraction from the mainstream which is education. Few students are able to combine their part-time jobs with education without losing a huge part of the time which they ought to focus on their studies.

Having given a thought to both views I still firmly adhere to the view that doing additional work is in some ways an important part of students life. The students from the families who have poor financial background have to balance their time between earning extra money and studying which is not a easy task. Though, it is difficult it is also valuable because part-time or weekend jobs give some experience and also increases ones sense of responsibility.
